Yolculuğum boyunca Couchsurfing‘ten ev bulup kalmayı planlıyorum. Böylece yerel gençlerle daha iyi bir bağ kurabileceğim ve kültürlere daha kolay adapte olacağım. Hostelde de kalmak bir seçenek. Ama hostelde kaldığınızda daha çok turist oluyorsunuz. Diğer yabancılarla takılıyorsunuz. Yerel insanlarla tanıştığınızda ise o şehri yaşayanlarla keşfediyorsunuz. Birçok turistin gitmeyeceği bir barı keşfedip geçmeyi düşünmeyeceğiniz sokaklara ayak basıyorsunuz. Couchsurfing’te kalırken sabahları turistik yerlere gidip akşamları yerel biriymiş gibi yaşayabiliyorsunuz.
Arjantinliler gerçekten çok yardımseverler. Daha adımımı şehre atmadan uçakta birkaç arkadaş edindim. Bir tanesi uçaktan inince merkeze gidebilmem için otobüs konusunda yardımcı oldu. Diğeri ise 60 yaşlarında çok tatlı bir kadındı. Hatta iki saat sonra kendisiyle kahve içmek için buluşacağım. Bu ülkede mutsuz olmak zor gibi. Herkes sempatik ve güleryüzlü.
Planladığım gibi buradaki ilk günüm ilkbaharın da ilk günüydü. Bu yüzden herkes sokaklarda baharın gelişini kutluyordu. Parklarda Arjantin çayı mate içen bir sürü insan yılın ilk sıcak gününün keyfini çıkarıyordu.
İkinci günümde, ev sahibim Juan ile şehri keşfe çıktık. Oldukça yorucu bir gündü diyebilirim. Çünkü tam tamına 14 kilometre yürüdük ☺️ Ama attığımız her adıma değdi. Umarım siz de okurken benim kadar eğlenirsiniz.
Öncelikle Bosques de Palermo denilen büyük küçük birçok parkın olduğu bölgeye gittik. Ayrı ayrı temaları olan parklar, güneşin tadını çıkaran, mate içen ve tabii ki futbol oynayan Arjantinliler ile doluydu. Hafta içi gittiğimiz için çok fazla insan yoktu ama hafta sonu parklarda oturacak yer bulmak epey zormuş. Parklarda rengarenk kuşlar ve bembeyaz kuğular da yaşıyor. İçinde sadece gül olan Rosedal Parkını geçtik ve küçük ama sempatik bir müze olan Eduardo Sívori Museum‘a uğradık.
Daha sonra Recoleta semtine uğradık. Burası daha turistik bir bölge diyebilirim. Hem içinde Cementario de la Recoleta adında kocaman bir mezarlık bulunuyor hem de aynı bölgede birkaç müze yan yana. Cementaria de Recoleta, Arjantin’in zengin ve önemli insanlarının mezarlarının olduğu bir yer. Mezar demeye dilim varmıyor. Çünkü her bir mezarlık adeta küçük bir ev gibi. Ayrıca hepsi mozaikler veya büyük heykellerle bezeli. Bazılarının kapısından içerideki tabutları da görebiliyorsunuz. İçeri bakarken birisi hareket etse direkt kalpten gider insan 😁
Buradan Centro Cultural Recoleta‘ya geçtik. Daha çok modern sanat eserlerinin bulunduğu bir müze. Oradan da klasik sanatlar müzesi olan Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes‘e uğradık.
Burada tüm müzelere giriş ücretsiz. Sadece Eduardo Sívori Museum’a girerken 1€ gibi bir fiyat ödedik. Ev sahibimin söylediğine göre burası da normalde ücretsizmiş. Neden para aldılar bilmiyorum. Neyse zaten 1€ da pek bir şey değil. Bizdeki müzelerin 20₺ olduğunu düşünürsek ☺️
14 kilometre yürüdükten sonra güzel bir akşam yemeğini hak ettiğimiz için Bellagamba adında bir restorana gittik. Kaldığım yer Palermo’ya yakın olan ve inanılmaz güzel Arjantin poğaçaları ve tuzlu turtaları yapan güzel bir yer Bellagamba. Yemekleri de oldukça ucuz. Yolunuz Palermo’ya düşerse mutlaka uğramanızı öneririm.
Ayrıca şehirde 20 – 25 Eylül tarihleri arasında Ciudad Emergente adında bir festival var. Festivalin aktiviteleri şehrin çeşitli yerlerinde yapılıyor ve mizah, müzik gibi birçok kategorisi bulunmakta. Evet, tüm aktiviteler yine ücretsiz. Henüz gidemedim ama hafta sonu konserlerden birine gitmeye çalışacağım.
Bugün bu evde son günüm. Başka bir eve geçiyorum. Bir hafta sonra da Montevideo’ya yelken açacağım. Yani ben yelken açmayacağım ama gemiyle gideceğim 😁 Gitmeden önce şehirde bir tango gösterisi izlemezsem ayıp olur, değil mi? 🌞
I am finally here, in Buenos Aires ☺️ I was expecting to feel strange in my first days as I would be in an unknown country. But from the first minute I stepped, I feel like I am in a place that I visited before. I lived in Spain for a while and I speak Spanish. So maybe because of that, I don’t feel like I am a stranger.
On my journey, I wish to use Couchsurfing. So I can be well connected to the local people and I can learn the culture easily. If I had stayed in a hostel, I would have been a total tourist I hate it. I want to be with young people from the city. I want to see where they get drunk, where they drink coffee to chill out, or where the best spots are.
Argentinian people are so helpful to anyone. I’ve already made friends on the plane. One of them helped me to find the bus to go to the city center. The other one was a sweet 60 years old lady which I met to drink a coffee after 2 hours. It’s hard to be unhappy here.
As I planned before, the first day of mine was the first day of spring. Everybody was on the streets to have a mate (Argentinian tea) and was celebrating the spring.
On my second day, my host Juan and I went out to walk around the city. Well, we walked 14 kilometers. Yeah, we walked so much. But he showed me very lovely places of Buenos Aires and it was worth walking ☺️ I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed seeing them.
First of all, we went to Bosques de Palermo where there are a lot of huge parks. Each park has a theme. It is a place very green. You can see colorful birds and white geese swimming in the lakes. As it was a weekday, it wasn’t so crowded. But I learned it is so crowded on weekends. People go there to have mates, play football (of course), sunbath. We visited the park of Rosedal where there are a lot of roses and statues. Then we visited Eduardo Sívori Museum which is a small but cute museum.
Then we went to Recoleta. Recoleta is kind of touristical center. There is Cementario de la Recoleta which is a huge cemetery where the rich and important people are buried. It was a shocking thing for me. Because there are no graves there. There are little houses for every person. All of them are like artwork.
We passed to Centro Cultural Recoleta which is a museum of modern art. We saw a lot of lovely pieces. Then we went to Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes where classical artworks exist.
All of the museums are free to enter. Only we paid for Eduardo Sívori Museum. It was like 1€ for an entrance. I don’t know why we paid there. Because my host said that it was free before. Well, 1€ is not expensive either ☺️
After walking 14 kilometers, we deserved a great dinner. So we went Bellagamba which is a restaurant that makes Argentinian pies. It is in Palermo where I stay. It was a very cheap place. So if you come to Palermo, I recommend you go there to eat some local food.
Between 20 – 25 September, there is a festival in the city. It’s called Festival Ciudad Emergente. It has so many stages around the city. There are categories such as music, art, and humor. And all of the activities are free as well. I didn’t have a chance to go to one of them. But I’m planning to go to a concert for it.
Today it’s my last day in that house. I am changing my host. After a week, I will be in Montevideo, Uruguay. So I gotta see some tango shows before I go 🌞
